Let’s talk ducks!
As we turn the calendar to June, you might be wondering what to get that duck hunter in your life for Fathers Day. Wouldn’t be nice to get him something he really wants this year instead of another “Worlds Greatest Dad” t-shirt? This year you want to get him something he will actually use.
But what else could he possibly need? It might seem like he has gone broke with all the gear he has bought over the years. But there is always at least one more thing that would make his next outing even better.
If you are not sure what to get your duck hunting father, here are a few easy suggestions that might help. I even attached links so you can easily buy them from home.
Gifts for in the Blind
Hunter’s Specialties Camo Leaf Blind Material, Realtree Advantage Max-5 I know what you are thinking….”Really, more camo.” Yes, really. More Camo. Given the excellent eye site that ducks possess, the more camo the better to keep your duck hunter hidden in the blind.
Delta Waterfowl Gear Floating Deluxe Blind Bag, Large-Max-5 Did you notice that his old blind bag is getting old and worn out. Or maybe it’s too small to carry all his “stuff.” Time for an upgrade. This large bag has plenty of room for shells, calls, and everything else needed to limit out.
Mossy Oak Extreme Cold Weather PVC Coated with Thinsulate Lined Decoy Hunting Gloves, 330, Size: One Size Fits Most Make it easy for him to come home after a cold day of hunting. He’ll have no problem pickin’ up the decoys even as the water is turning to ice. These gloves will keep him warm and dry. Great for those cold late season hunts.
Gifts for at Home
Duck, Duck, Goose: The Ultimate Guide to Cooking Waterfowl, Both Farmed and Wild Just finished up an excellent day of hunting, now it’s time for dinner. This book has excellent recipes on how to cook duck and goose. I have used some of the recipes out of this book, and they have been delicious.
Duck Dynasty Duck Commander Plug ‘N’ Play Hunting Video Game I think all duck hunters are kids at heart, so why not give them a game for fathers day. I have this game it’s actually a lot of fun. Whether you want to hunt ducks, frogs, or beavers; this game is easy and fun to play.
Lastly, you could give your duck hunting father a membership to either Ducks Unlimited or Delta Waterfowl. I discussed the importance of joining these organizations in a previous post. Not only will he help preserve the future of duck hunting, but both groups give away cool gifts when you join. It’s a win-win.
These were just a few suggestions on what to get your duck hunter this Fathers Day. What ever you decide, I hope you have a great time with your father.
